Your child’s first steps to learning begin at First Grammar Hurstville. Our long day care and early education centre provides child care in Buderim that is perfect for families living or commuting through nearby suburbs Hurtsville, Hurtsville Grove, Connells Point, South Hurtsville, and Allawah.
We are within easy access to the M5 and King Georges Road and close to Penshurst and Hurstville train stations. Our centre has amazing playgrounds which are equipped with age appropriate climbing equipment and sandpits, we have lots of shade from our sails but also from beautiful huge trees.
Children are excited to say hello to all our birds that sit in these trees. We also have outdoor toilets and nappy change area which help us a lot as we do not have to compromise the ratio if children need to use toilet or they have to be changed. Our team is focused on delivering extra – curricular activities and they are completely free (included I our fees). Every day of the week we have something on that children are looking forward to and enriches their learning journey. We do yoga class, sport class, safety course, drama and music class and guitar class.
From the moment you walk through the doors of our Hurtsville child care centre, you’ll be immersed in a world where children are encouraged to learn and explore. Our adventure-filled playgrounds feature sandpits, natural gardens, vegetable gardens, cubby houses, climbing forts, bike track, and play equipment to engage all the senses.
Children are provided the time and space for uninterrupted play as they explore the outdoors to test their limits and develop strength, balance, and self-confidence. Being outside supports children’s overall health and wellbeing.
Our indoor spaces invite exploration with quality resources and learning experiences. Children wonder, create, and test out their ideas as they play with a range of materials in purposeful play spaces. Our team of experienced educators plan play-based learning experiences around children’s interests and learning goals. Literacy and numeracy concepts are embedded in play-based learning, as children engage as architects, storytellers, scientists, artists, and designers.
We have everything covered here at our Hurtsville child care centre, so you won’t need to worry about preparing lunch or snacks. Nutritious meals are made daily by our in-house cook, catering for all dietary requirements. Shared mealtimes between children and educators strengthen relationships, with opportunities to share stories and experiences, and model healthy eating practices.
Every day presents a new opportunity for learning experiences at our Hurtsville early education centre. For an additional fee your child can have access to engaging specialised programs, including a sport and music and movement program. These fun and engaging programs enhance the daily program.
Educators and children venture out into the local Toongabbie community on excursions to nearby parks, shops, and schools. We welcome special guests and community members to the centre based on the children's interests.
At our centre we like to organize incursions like : teacher visiting from primary school, kindergarten children visiting our preschoolers and talking about “big school”, we welcome emergency services, dentists, vision screening, speech pathologist.
Before Covid-19 we did our regular outings to nearby parks, and went on walks exploring our neighbourhood, local primary schools, visiting Aquarium in a city, we planned to visit Australian museum but have to postponed this due to Covid-19.
Our centre also celebrates regular cultural events reflecting the diversity in our local community.
We host Mother’s and Father’s Day, Grandparent’s Day, Christmas, Book Week, NAIDOC week, Harmony day – where we celebrate multiculturalism.
Neighbourhood connections support a sense of community and belonging for children and provide opportunities to develop social and observational skills with different people, places, and environments.
