Your child’s first steps to learning begin at First Grammar Bankstown. Our long day care and early education centre provides child care in Bankstown that is perfect for families living or commuting through nearby suburbs Condell Park and Yagoona. We’re conveniently located close to Wattawa Heights and Bankstown West Public schools.
Our centre and the staff pride themselves on the relationships we have with families as well as with the community. We have a sustainability program that is embedded in the service and across the rooms, the children also have an opportunity to visit the recycling plants and contribute to this plan. We have great ties with the local primary school with weekly visit for our preschool children who are off to school the following the year. Here at FG Bankstown we strive to ensure our children have a balance in the program and planned events and activities.
The centre has a monthly events calendar which includes a holiday program which runs from December through to February. These are designed to stimulate and enhance learning through play. We also host a range of exciting activities and fun days such as BBQ’s and pool days in the warmer weather.
From the moment you walk through the doors of our Bankstown child care centre, you’ll be immersed in a world where children are encouraged to learn and explore. Our adventure-filled playgrounds feature sandpits, natural gardens, vegetable gardens, cubby houses, climbing forts, bike track, and play equipment to engage all the senses.
Children are provided the time and space for uninterrupted play as they explore the outdoors to test their limits and develop strength, balance, and self-confidence. Being outside supports children’s overall health and wellbeing.
Our indoor spaces invite exploration with quality resources and learning experiences. Children wonder, create, and test out their ideas as they play with a range of materials in purposeful play spaces. Our team of experienced educators plan play-based learning experiences around children’s interests and learning goals. Literacy and numeracy concepts are embedded in play-based learning, as children engage as architects, storytellers, scientists, artists, and designers.
We have everything covered here at our Bankstown child care centre, so you won’t need to worry about preparing lunch or snacks. Nutritious meals are made daily by our in-house cook, catering for all dietary requirements. Shared mealtimes between children and educators strengthen relationships, with opportunities to share stories and experiences, and model healthy eating practices.
Every day presents a new opportunity for learning experiences at our Bankstown early education centre. For an additional fee your child can have access to engaging specialised programs, including a sport and music and movement program. These fun and engaging programs enhance the daily program.
We welcome special guests and community members to the centre based on the children's interests and stage of development. We plan monthly incursions that may reflect what’s going on in our community such as local events, tours and festivities to inspire us and initiate further creative exploration. Neighborhood connections support a sense of community and belonging for children and provide opportunities to develop social and observational skills with different people, places, and environments.
In addition to our incursions, we also visit the local park, go for walks to the local bakeries, supermarkets, nursing homes, Bunnings warehouse and various other local spots offering children the opportunity to investigate the world around them.
Our centre also celebrates regular cultural events reflecting the diversity in our local community. These include but are not limied to Eid, Ramadan, Christmas, Easter, Naidoc week, Book week, White ribbon day, reconciliation week, Mother’s day, Father’s day and Grand Parents Day.
