Interacting and engaging in meaningful play with the children and forming strong relationships with them and their families.

Certificate 3

What is your favourite inspirational quote?

Turn the fear of the unknown into the excitement of discovery.

What is your philosophy about educating children?

I believe that all children, no matter what age, should have the chance to learn about the world around them, discover who they are and share how they feel without having limitations placed on them. It is my responsibility as an educator and role model to provide, guide and encourage this as they grow. We need to stop viewing children as children but instead as capable and confident little humans who want to learn and grow. We need to provide meaningful opportunities for them to learn, grow and discover who they are while keeping them safe from harm while exposing them to the big wide world.

As an educator, it is my role to ensure all young humans have a fair and equal opportunity to learn, develop and grow through guidance, encouragement and the teachings I have learnt. More importantly, it is a privilege to be a part of this they are on in their early years as humans.

What makes your team/centre special?

We have a large open outdoor space for children and educators to actively engage in play. Our educators are warm and form strong relationships with the children and families that are a part of our centre. We provide nutritious meals throughout the day that fall in line with the Munch and Move guidelines for healthy eating and our cook loves involving the children.

Our centre has come a long way over the past 5 years. As a centre we have created a warm and welcoming culture that you know your child would love and be loved. We understand that each child is different and unique in their own special way and it is part of our role to help that surface. We let children be children and learn through play while we help guide them. We encourage all children to go an adventure of discovery about the world around them who they are. Most importantly we ensure that all the children and families in our care feel a part of the centre.

Reviews and Testimonials

See what some of our parents say about our centre:

My 2 girls both not only hit all their milestones, but in many cases exceed my expectations, and I know that it is due to the work that is done with them at First Grammar in conjunction with my own efforts. The Carers are always willing to work with me on any issues that come up for my girls and together we have overcome many of my worries. Whether in person or on the phone, all the carers at the centre always have time to discuss my kids with me and I never feel cut off… I shall be sad to say goodbye when my younger daughter finally goes off to big school.”

“My daughter has been attending First Grammar Westleigh for approximately 10 months. We love this centre for the amazing outdoor area, where most of our daughters time is spent (weather permitting) and the staff, who are incredibly engaging and fun. From a centre management and parent engagement perspective, Miss Ally has made significant improvements since taking over the centre. I couldn’t be happier.”

First Grammar have incredible space and facilities that my son loves and enjoys. Since enroling him about 7 months ago I’ve watched him grow and learn in a happy and accepting learning environment. When ever I have raised an issue with the centre it has been dealt with immediately and with discretion. Miss Amy (2IC) has been a shinning light for my son, she is loving, caring & firm but fair. This approach has allowed him to grow up into a confident and happy little boy. Thank you!”

“Our son has been going to First Grammar since he was 2 years old full time. We are so happy with the service and education and recommend First Grammar Westleigh to anyone who is looking for a tight knit community focused of giving children a great learning environment. The staff are excellent with the kids and they are always open to suggestions about the menu, learning programs and cultural diversity. We will be very sad to leave First Grammar as our son moves to Kindergarten and thank the team for all their love and support over the years x.”
