Your child’s first steps to learning begin at First Grammar Wyoming. Our long day care and early education centre provides child care in Wyoming that is perfect for families living or commuting through Wyoming and is a stones throw from Wyoming Shopping Centre. Our centre is easily accessible by public transport and has ample nearby parking available.
From the moment you walk through the doors of our Wyoming child care centre, you’ll be immersed in a world where children are encouraged to learn and explore. Our shared yard includes a large sandpit, herb gardens, stage, a rabbit hutch, gross motor climbing equipment, basketball hoop, bike track all set on soft fall, designed to give your child the space to explore and challenge themselves physically.
Children are provided the time and space for uninterrupted play as they explore the outdoors to test their limits and develop strength, balance, and self-confidence. Being outside supports children’s overall health and wellbeing.
Our indoor spaces invite exploration with quality resources and learning experiences. Children wonder, create, and test out their ideas as they play with a range of materials in purposeful play spaces. Our team of experienced educators plan play-based learning experiences around children’s interests and learning goals. Literacy and numeracy concepts are embedded in play-based learning, as children engage as architects, storytellers, scientists, artists, and designers.
We have everything covered here at our Wyoming child care centre, so you won’t need to worry about preparing lunch or snacks. Nutritious meals are made daily by our in-house cook, catering for all dietary requirements including Halal. Shared mealtimes between children and educators strengthen relationships, with opportunities to share stories and experiences, and model healthy eating practices.
Every day presents a new opportunity for learning experiences at our Wyoming early education centre. Our dedicated educators regularly program for each child and include planned experiences that relate to science, music, sport and creative arts, such as yoga and painting in the garden. Our children are supported to access and utilise our Ella Language Program (learning a variety of languages including French, Italian or Chinese).
Educators and children routinely venture out into the local Wyoming community on excursions to the nearby park for nature walks, and to shops, and schools. We welcome special guests and community members to the centre based on the children's interests including the local fire service and dentist visits as well as connections with the local schools relating to transitioning our preschoolers to big school.
Our centre also celebrates regular cultural events reflecting the diversity in our local community. Each day is commenced with our Acknowledgement of Country, showing respect for the traditional owners of our land. We also celebrate a variety of cultural and non-cultural events throughout the year including Mother/Father’s Day, Christmas, Book Week, Diwali and Chinese New Year, and support fundraisers throughout the year such as Bravehearts, White Ribbon, Red Nose Day and Day for Daniel.
Neighbourhood connections support a sense of community and belonging for children and provide opportunities to develop social and observational skills with different people, places, and environments.
We make the best use of this through indoor/outdoor play throughout the day. We support learning in sustainability through our use of compost bins and worm farms. The children help water and tend our herb garden, and feed and care for our rabbits, growing their appreciation for the environment and developing an awareness of the impact of human activity and the interdependence between land, people, plants and animals.
