Rebecca Jobson

Centre Manager - First Grammar Hammondville

"Throughout my time working with children, I have learnt that no two children are the same and every day brings new experiences.

I began my career in early childhood education and care in 2002 and started working at First Grammar Hammondville in 2020. I hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. I have also taught in the NSW Public School System.

I have held many roles throughout my career including Centre Manager, Educational Leader, Area Manager and Practice Partner. Out of all of these roles, my passion lies with working directly with children and their families.

Throughout my time working with children, I have learnt that no two children are the same and everyday brings new experiences. Children each run their own race and their learning should be individualised to them.

It has always been my aim to create an environment for children to be explorers, investigators, inventors, creators, and more. Childhood is a time of wonder and I want to create a place where children can make memories that will last a lifetime.

All childcare centres, including our centre, use the foundation of play-based learning to guide our experiences every day. With access to a range of age-appropriate learning resources, trained educators, and new experiences among friends, we set children up to thrive in an environment that is dedicated to learning.

Children develop their curiosity, problem-solving, confidence and resilience at our centre, and we carefully plan play-based learning experiences around their interests and learning goals. Over time, you will see your child develop abilities such as language, motor movement, memory, concentration and social relationships all by partaking in these experiences - it's a truly incredible journey to witness!

The First Grammar Hammondville team is made up of dedicated, skilled and experienced educators who have a wide range of backgrounds and cultures. All together we have over 175 years of experience in the early childhood sector. Every day we bring this experience together to design and implement individualised learning experiences and programs for each child, helping them grow into the best little people they can be!

The Health and Safety of all children, families and team members is our top priority and we take this responsibility very seriously. Every person who enters the centre should leave happier and healthier. We believe that we are advocates for children and need to speak for those who can’t speak for themselves. I will always arm myself with the skills and knowledge to protect all children at all times.

Relationships are central to all we do at First Grammar Hammondville. We aim to support each child and their family to feel a sense of security and belonging to our service. Each week you will receive a weekly catch up with plenty of information to keep you up to date with what is happening within the service, as well as daily updates about your child and their engagement with the program.

Our parents room is available with a fully stocked coffee and tea station to fuel you for the day.Throughout the year, we host many celebrations and events where families can come together as a community, network and build lasting relationships.

When you arrive at our centre, you will feel the warmth and care of the team, you will see the specifically designed learning spaces and you will hear the children engaged in their learning. You will be supported throughout the enrolment journey and have the opportunity for Stay and Play Orientation sessions leading up to your child’s first day. Support and guidance is available at every step of the process from completing enrolment forms to connecting your bank account and CCS.
