First Grammar Belmore

Our Belmore early learning centre is designed to be a home away from home that encourages every child’s exploration. Our early learning environments have been carefully designed to immerse your child into a world of exploration, curiosity, and learning.  

At our Belmore child care centre learning space extends onto our beautiful outdoor environment, which encourages endless opportunities for play! Within our outdoor areas we have a 0-2 year old babies area for them to explore with a sandpit, garden bed and sensory mat. The 2-5 year olds' room share a large outdoor area with a sandpit, undercover play area and climbing frames. We also have a herb garden and some vegetable gardens. 

Our Belmore child care centre has three indoor rooms. Our 0-2 room caters for up to 12 babies and is complete with sensory experiences where the children engage in developing their fine motor and arts and crafts skills. The larger 2-3 year olds' room caters for up to 15 children and the environments are set up for children to explore and develop their self-help skills. Our toddler children thoroughly enjoy their art experiences in these rooms. The 3-5 year olds' room provides a multitude of projects for the children to engage in, with the particular focus of transition to school, emotional and self-regulation skills and developing their voices.  

Our team of passionate educators make up the heart of our Belmore child care centre. We know each child has unique talents and interests. Our experienced educators are passionate about helping every child succeed in discovering their identity and become confident, happy and resilient learners. We have a longstanding Centre Manager and Centre Cook. Our early learning team also includes qualified Early Childhood Teachers, as well as staff with Diplomas and Cert 3 qualifications.  

Play is essential to every child's learning and development. It enables children to make decisions, learn, take risks, and have fun. Our experienced team plan play-based learning activities in line with national standards. The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) is designed to engage in your child’s interests and allow them to experience each day in a new way, supporting their learning in the lead-up to primary school.  

Our Early Learning Curriculum also provides children with :

Sustainability Program: Each age group participates in a sustainability project that help children embed sustainable practices into everyday life. The children engage in daily feeding of the worm farm, recycling paper and plastics, and in creating natural artwork. We love watching as they tend to the garden beds, herb garden and watering of plants. The children also learn about conserving water, growing food and the importance of looking after and protecting our planet. 

Music and movement programs: Our music programs have been designed to help develop fundamental skills that help support children’s self-regulation, memory and concentration. The staff also run weekly yoga programs for the children in the preschool rooms.  

Community engagement activities: We often have visits from local community such as the local fire brigade, local police, and other community services in Belmore to help familiarise the children with their local community. We also have excursions to our local park Harold Bull Reserve and local primary school Belmore South Public School and St. Joseph Catholic Primary School to assist our preschool children with their transition to ‘big school’. 

Our early learning centre provides children with nutrient-rich, fresh and seasonal foods created to please even the fussiest of eaters. For variety, our Munch and Move approved menu rotates every four weeks. We are extremely proud to have an experienced cook who has been with us for 12 years, and gladly caters for all the children's dietary needs whilst providing the most delicious meals. 

Here at First Grammar Belmore, we believe that by encouraging active participation in food preparation, such as growing & harvesting the fruit and vegetables, preparing, and helping cook the meal, children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating.
