Thank you for considering First Grammar Bathurst for your family’s care and education needs.

First Grammar Bathurst is a well-established early education centre with experienced and qualified educators who provide a rich, nurturing environment for children from 6 weeks to 6 years and is open from 7:00am to 6:30pm. Our qualified staff are trained in early childhood development and provide a strong educational program for each individual child. Our centre is designed and equipped to meet the unique educational needs of every child.

Our families have instant and direct access to their child’s individual educational program and their child’s photos through our communication app, Xplor. Our families use this app to provide contributions to our program, provide feedback on their child’s program, view newsletters and important updates instantly as well as to communicate with staff.

Our families also have access to our bookings app, KindyNow, which allows families to book their own extra days directly from their phone, anytime of the day, without needing to contact the centre.

For your convenience, nappies are provided and nutritious meals including breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are prepared daily using fresh market ingredients.

Our experienced and qualified educators provide specialised programs based on the Early Years Learning Framework including a Preschool program, aimed at preparing children for school and beyond. As part of our Preschool program, children have access to a Smart Board which they are able to navigate independently as well as participating in free monthly excursions including a private bus and community visits such as reptile shows and fire service visits. At the end of the year our Preschool children and families are fare welled by our formal Graduation Ceremony which allows children to emotionally complete a milestone and prepare to begin their new adventure through primary school.

Our centre has one large yard for all children to play together – siblings can play together and support each other during outdoor play times and children learn important social skills essential for preparing for school by interacting with children of all ages. The children are able to engage with a fun and challenging new outdoor area including our large sandpit and new timber treehouse with it’s own shop front, slide and rock climbing wall.

As a part of our  sustainability program, our centre featured chickens, which children are able to interact with, feed and collect eggs.

Our small centre allows us to have very strong relationships with families. We value the strength of our educational team and work closely with families to provide a program that allows children to develop to their full potential.

How long have you been working in childcare?

I obtained a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary Teaching) in 2012.

I am most passionate about teaching. I am a passionate advocate for Early Childhood Education and I am passionate about using play-based programs to achieve learning outcomes and goals for young children.

What are you most proud of at your centre?

I am most proud of our relationships with families. Being a small centre, we are able to form close relationships with families and the children in our care which is beneficial to the children in our care as this is proven to improve the quality of learning for young children.

As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

It was no surprise to anyone when I enrolled in a teaching degree as I always wanted to be a teacher when I was young and would always be reading stories to my toys!

Reviews and Testimonials

See what some of our parents say about our centres:

“My little girl has attended since it opened and loves the school and is always very happy to go to care. The school has great structure and policies and they communicate often. I highly recommend First Grammar.”

– Nikki

“My son has attended First Grammar from day one, and we could not be happier with the centre. The small size of the centre is great, as the children get lots of attention, but it does not lack in facilities and resources. The centre runs age specific programs, suitable from newborn to preschool aged children. The highly skilled staff are wonderful and always available to discuss the progress of your child, and the regular communication is fantastic, well above any centre I have experienced with my older children. The centre is extremely good value for money, cheaper than a lot of the local centres, and provides morning, afternoon teas and nappies. I would highly recommend First Grammar Bathurst to any prospective family.”

“My son has attended First Grammar since it was established in Bathurst, and continues to attend 3 days/week. I’ve been very pleased with the professional and friendly manner in which staff always present themselves, and the written and verbal communication that is fed back to me as a parent about the day. The physical environment is always very clean and inviting. They have a good range of equipment / resources and participate in various well planned out activities. The inclusion of morning and afternoon tea, as well as nappies, and the long hours of opening are also positive inclusions. Overall my son and I are very happy with First Grammar.”

– Karen

“First Grammar Bathurst is an excellent day care centre. The staff are professional, and are understanding and compassionate toward the children and parents. There are always a range of activities for children and staff always cater to individual children’s needs. Staff are friendly and approachable and available to discuss my daughter’s day and progress in general. The facilities are clean and staff make you feel welcome on drop offs and pickups. I would recommend First Grammar to any one considering day care options in the Bathurst region.”
